This certificate course will allow system technician apprentices to complete the 300 hours of approved education required by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Examiners of Electricians in order to be eligible to sit for the system technician license examination. A system technician license is required to work on fire alarm and security alarm systems. This two part course is offered beginning in September & January of each year in increments of 150 hours per course.
In addition, you must work under a Licensed Systems Contractor for a minimum of 4000 hours over not more than 10 years.

The course necessary to meet Systems Technician requirements is offered September through May with the following schedule.
Systems Technician #1 (Wednesday) 150 hrs Course (75 per semester)
Systems Technician #2 (Wednesday) 150 hrs Course (75 per semester)
All courses may be moved to an online or hybrid format dependent upon guidance from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
